To Opposing Correspondent, My Reply in Sonnet

I scorn you, scurvy companion.

“Thou art as loathsome as a toad.”

Dear attorney, I have read your letter,
in which my clients you attacked.
Really, sir, you should know better
than allegations containing neither law nor fact.

The claims you make are nothing like the truth.
You, sir, are a complete pettifogger.
Only an ignorant and untrained youth
would believe such a whopper.

Your complaint is based upon erroneous belief,
and a judge would view your claim with disfavor.
Of our client’s rights to damages, injunctive relief,
and attorney fees nothing herein is a waiver.

The gravity of this matter we trust you appreciate,
we suggest you advise your client to remediate.

Call if discussion you desire.

Sincerely, Aylett Colston, Esquire
